My 9 Ways To Get Back Into Shape After Giving Birth

Let ‘ s be honest pregnant women crave weird foods and lots of it! Most of us fixate over how much we  will gain during pregnancy. We are even obsessed over the weight our favorire celebrities gain during the course of their pregnancies. For instance, these statistics made tabloid headlines:

  • Can you believe Miranda Kerr gained 40 pounds while she was pregnant with baby son Flynn? She weighed 10 pounds — what happened to the rest of it?
  • Beyonce Says She Was 195 Pounds While Pregnant With Blue Ivy!

  • Christina Aguilera gained 40 lbs and went up two shoe sizes

Of course, all of us want to get of our pregnancy weight as well, and to do it as fast as it is possible. I will show you my way, after my second child was born. And both times I had C-Section….so it was even harder to get back in shape…Believe me …

Indeed, just how does a post-partum woman drop that “baby fat” in a healthful way that respects the female body? Let’s skip any “Hollywood Stars Reveal Secrets of Post-Pregnancy Weight Loss” garbage.

Please, start while you’re pregnant! It ‘s really important. Start even before you are pregnant!

Let ‘s be honest, just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you can be a couch potato. It is normal to gain weight, but don’t start eating chocolate cake for dinner or a huge pack of potato chips for your breakfast. Find good trainer, go to the swimming pool, walk around the block once or twice a day. JUST MOVE!!!! MOVE!!!! MOVE!!! You are not ILL!!!! You are pregnant!

Nature is on your side, just don’t forget about the rule number 1:)

Once the baby is born , there is immediate loss of 11 – 13 lbs. My weight gain during first pregnancy was 20 lbs and with the second pregnancy almost 29 lbs! So again, check rule number 1 above!  After 6 weeks you will start to exercise and it will help you to loose more weight. And guess what – you don’t have to join a gym or buy weights. Your baby is weight enough. Check this article – tips for working out at home with a baby. Breastfeeding will also help you lose weight, using up to 800 calories a day.

To lose weight you need some rest

If your baby is sleeping, so should you. Sleeping when the baby sleeps will allow you to avoid any long-term sleep deficits. That will keep your energy levels high and help keep sugar cravings for energy in check. If you don’t get enough sleep, you won’t have the energy to keep yourself moving through your waking hours, much less want to work out or get your exercise. Sometimes I was even sleeping in park near the stroller. But I was outside and that what matters.

Some help from pharmacy or nature

Many ingredients included in weight loss supplements are not approved for women who are pregnant or nursing. Consider some natural weight loss foods that will stem your hunger or affect your metabolism in a healthy way. Not all of these may set well with you, but give some a try. And always check with your doctor in case you are breastfeeding!

  • Try some apple cider vinegar in hot water two or three times a day to help reduce fat.
  • Take pineapple and green tea supplement. It worked great for me.
  • Tea made from Indian plum leaves has fat burning properties. Drink some twice day.
  • Green tea has excellent properties that help weight loss. Drink it often during the day.
  • Try blood type diet. Many fashion models follow it. I do as well. It works…

You already know that getting back to exercise should be a gradual process, but you can always start some simple exercises after you are through four weeks of post-partum. There’s a gap in your abdominal muscles right after giving birth. It usually disappears within four to eight weeks. Make sure this gap is closed before doing belly exercises!!!!

As I have mentioned before I do follow blood type diet. But anyway ABSOLUTE DIET PLAN would look something like that:

Breakfast : Fruit and natural yoghurt

Snack : Walnuts or pumpkin seeds

Lunch : Tuna or chicken with salad

Snack : Cherries

Dinner: Fish or chicken or beef with roasted vegetables

Wear any kind of tracking band

I have Jawbone band. Any kind of band will help you to understand how much you move, how you sleep, eat and so you can make smarter choices.

Get some nice planner. Yes, you should plan your life. Plan your shopping, your training, your meals, your chores, your beauty regime, YOUR LIFE! Every day! Good planner must have : prioritized daily task list, extra pages for notes and tasks, future planning calendars. Each and every day write 3 things that made you feel great about yourself. I use FranklinCovey planner.

Look great and sexy – YES, FIND THAT TIME!

Honey, you need to make the time, it will not set itself aside for you!

The person you really want to look/feel sexy for is your husband, right? Set aside the last 20 minutes before he comes home to “fix up, brush up, and paint up”.

Put on music that makes YOU feel good (the kids can do without “Barney” for awhile). Put on something YOU like to wear, sans the baby food stains and grease spots. Etc.

I’m not saying “get a professional do” here. Keep it simple. You both work hard all day; respect that in each other.

Remember that your romance life is NOT diminished by your job or his. It is simply another part of life that you share. It is part of being a wife. Just one of the more “fun” parts.

BTW, when the kids are asleep, and the doors are closed, use your imagination a little! Everybody loves a little suprise once in awhile. Let him get to bed first, and then walk in to the bedroom in heels and a raincoat, and nothing else! You get the idea.

Sexiness is deliberate, not an accident. If you work at it, you will feel it.

Have a really great time!
